Early on Friday night, the early implications of the stormy weekend ahead and the approach of Hurricane Bill were evident with the arrival of an intense thunderstorm. This shot captures a lightning strike within the clouds over the Piscataqua River Bridge (with the Moran Tugboats in the foreground), which soon drenched all who had hunkered down at the Decks along the waterfront.

UPDATE: Turns out that it probably wasn’t Hurricane Bill, as the majority of the weekend was gorgeous…however it WAS a very intense storm!

Phil, this is a gorgeous shot! The clouds are so menacing, yet the one clear opening looks like God is about to peek through. Just beautiful.
