Christmas in The Rain

The annual tree has been lit in Market Square, and it’s simple and beautiful from all angles.  I happened to be out and about during the rain earlier in the week, and noticed how awesome the reflections were in the pavement of Congress Street – so I ran to grab my camera.  There will be more shots before Christmas comes and goes – but wanted to wish everyone a great weekend and a Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas with a little glimpse of holidays in Market Square.

Happy Holidays from Market Square

Dear Everyone,

Merry Christmas.

Love,

Portsmouth

Tis the season to spread some love & joy.  This past weekend the city hosted its annual Holiday Parade & tree lighting.  The holidays are definitely here again along with some ridiculously cold weather that I decided to torture my hands in while heading out to snap a few shots of the tree in Market Square.  Be sure to support our local retailers this year and spend some dollars locally.

Winter in Market Square

Today features another winter scene, and the last holiday shot I’ll share of the Christmas tree in Market Square. Sadly, I also had to return the great 14mm lens I rented from BorrowLenses.com … a bummer as I enjoyed the ability to shoot much closer to subjects and pull in objects in the distance.

Holidays in Portsmouth

Portsmouth is dressed up for the holidays, with the huge christmas tree fully decked out at its spot in the center of Market Square (just in time for the parade), and with wreaths on all of the light posts downtown. Portsmouth’s Holiday Parade takes place today, December 5th at 6pm (additional details HERE).  And according to the weather, it just might feel like a White Christmas!
