Docked in the Fog | Memorial Bridge

I thought this shot was an apt metaphor for the unknown fate of the Memorial Bridge and its potentially damning effects on the growth of downtown Kittery.  I’ve always enjoyed seeing the working fleet docked at the flank of the bridge…and the fog rolled in just perfectly this evening after the thunderstorms cleared.

I was able to get a few great shots from a unique opportunity I had thanks to some good friends.  This was shot atop the building that the Ale House Inn is in…and they are renting the room with the incredible view for the next couple weeks.  Feel free to give them a call if you’re looking to take advantage of a gorgeous view and an evening downtown.

Morning Fog

It was another warm week this week, with the gift of morning fog on several occasions.  This is one of the shots I snapped on my way into work of Portsmouth’s tugboats.

Ceres Street in the Fog

Earlier this week, the weather was pretty darn hot – and the mornings were ridiculously foggy.  I’ve always loved these stairwells on the back of the Ceres Street rowhouses, and the thick misty fog only added to the aura they bring to the streetscape.  The brick walkways and leading lines are cool, and my favorite part might be the flower petals that have fallen from the hanging plant that are strewn around the watermark.

Come visit tomorrow for some shots I snapped from the 100 Club - where Catapult Seacoast held its latest event in the Business Speaker Series that featured the fascinating mind of thinker/painter/scientist/filmmaker Chase Bailey of Left Bank Films.  Some beautiful shots await…

North Church's Foggy Twin

Much to my surprise, I could see another North Church steeple in the sky tonight – except it was opposite the bright white of the actual steeple that I’m used to, it was a dark void in some foggy light…the steeple’s shadow.  I thought it was rather striking, and it keeps with this week’s trend of night photos.

Disappearing (in the fog)

Summer.  According to the calendar, it arrived a couple weeks back.  According to the weather?  Well…as seen here – the fog maintains its presence on the river as Kittery and the Memorial Bridge are barely visible through the air.  Certainly feels like a seaside town this week.

Steeple & Fog | Portsmouth, NH

Another shot from 100 Market Street.  The light cutting through the fog to the North Church steeple is always a pleasure to catch.
