Happy Memorial Day from The Daily Portsmouth

Happy Memorial Day to everyone from The Daily Portsmouth.  Today I wanted to recognize the troops who have served and continue to serve our wonderful country and fight for its freedom.  I want to also recognize Murray Joseph Cohen, my grandfather, who served our country in World War II – who arrived on the shores of Normandy on D-Day…and lived to tell us the story.  This is our family’s first Memorial Day remembering “Gramp”.

To everyone who has lost someone in their service to our country, my thoughts are with you.

New York City | Guest City

Traveled this weekend to New York and had the chance to stop by the Hudson River in West New York, New Jersey.  The Empire State Building was sporting red white and blue in honor of all our veterans and fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country.  The city skyline was gorgeous and a thunderstorm was rolling in, but I couldn’t capture any lightning (sadly).  You’ll have to see this one full size for a better view, here:  FLICKR.
