180 | The Doors of Portsmouth

Another entry in the series The Doors of Portsmouth.  This beautiful yellow home located in the South End features some nice granite steps leading to a cool door with a diamond window.  I’m not up to speed on the technical terminology for the architecture, but I know that I enjoy it.

Trap Falls | Willard Brook State Forest

It was a beautiful weekend, and while home in Massachusetts for the day on Sunday my Dad and I decided to go see how Trap Falls was looking.  This waterfall in Ashby, MA near Willard Brook State Forest is usually comprised of three streams of water coming down the rocks.  We timed this visit perfectly, as there was still snow in the area and the recent rains made sure that the falls were much stronger than usual.  I had a great time shooting my first waterfall… looking forward to future adventures.  Video to follow later today.

The Fish Pier & Strawbery Banke in the Fall

Today’s post is dedicated to my very special mother and father.  Birthdays usually revolve around people getting gifts or wishing you congrats on being another year older, but I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Mom and Dad for getting together 28 years and 9 months ago today and deciding to have me.  Ever since then they have both been nothing but 1,000% supportive, caring, loving, thoughtful, insightful, funny, smart, willing to teach, willing to listen (all of this unconditionally) – and I always joke every year about making a point to thank them for going to such expense to make me – but I truly want them to know how incredible they are and how much it means to me that they’ve been the perfect parents for me in every way.  Thanks for the birthday – I love you guys!

Today’s shots are of the Commercial Fish Pier as seen from Prescott Park and Strawbery Banke during the fall with some lovely foliage.

The Lobby of the Ale House Inn

You may have seen this shot before, but I like it so much that I’m going to post it again!  This was taken in the inviting lobby of the Ale House Inn.  The Inn was renovated recently and features the old warm brick walls of the former grain storage warehouse for a brewery that was situated on the banks of the Piscataqua River.  The hallway of the 10-room inn feels similar to the inside of a ship…but the rooms are much more modern and sport a fresh cottage/seacoast feel.  If you’re looking for a spot downtown, check them out…it’s within easy strolling distance to anywhere downtown, including The Decks, the waterfront and the Memorial Bridge.

Bow Street at Night

Here is a street scape view of Bow Street, to complement the post from earlier this week that depicted the waterside view.  There is no shortage of hanging signs on this side of the buildings – prime advertising for the businesses lucky enough to have such a great spot.  Only a few more weeks until the newly configured decks will be open for business.  Below is another shot of Bow Street taken from 100 Market Street, where you can see the curve of the street.
