State Street is a changing place these days. The City has undertaken infrastructure improvement efforts to the section closest to the Piscataqua River, private investment has purchased and developed (or is in the process of developing) several buildings in the historic portion between Pleasant Street and Prescott Park. This shot captures the prominent sign for The Rosa Restaurant, a State Street institution for many years now – and also some temporary fencing and brick walkway. By the end of the summer, the City will have fixed the guts of the street under the pavement and will also replace the walkways with new bricks and implement some period street lighting. It will be another appreciated improvement to the City and the businesses on State Street.
