New York City closed down its West Side Highway for spectators to take in the fireworks shot over the Hudson River in honor of the 400th anniversary of its discovery. They had 4 or 5 barges shooting fireworks simultaneously up the river…quite a spectacle! There were 10s of thousands of people along the highway (a guesstimate)…and the city did an excellent job keeping it orderly and enjoyable for all. Will post a gallery to my FLICKR soon. Tomorrow afternoon’s post will feature fireworks from Portsmouth as taken from South Mill Pond.
