One of Portsmouth’s artistic treasures is The Music Hall located on Chestnut Street. The building was constructed in 1878, and is New Hampshire’s oldest theater – clocking in at 900 seats. The Founder’s Lobby recently underwent a full renovation, and is gorgeous. The theater itself was also recently renovated, uncovering beautiful paintings on the ceiling and returning the stage to its former glory.
