I went for a walk this evening and wanted to capture some new scenes…I hadn’t been to the South End in a couple weeks, so I thought I’d see if I could find anything that caught my eye. It was relatively overcast and the sky wasn’t too exciting, so sweeping landscapes were basically out of the question. I started in Prescott Park and headed towards the Peirce Island bridge. I decided to stay close to the water and then came across a quiet scene at Geno’s Chowder & Sandwich Shop. I’ve yet to grab lunch there, but every time the presidential primaries roll around – candidates are sure to stop in for a bit while they stump in Portsmouth.
The buoys on the fences around the restaurant and the lobster on the front gate had some fantastic New England charm and screamed of a great seafood joint. I am pretty sure that Geno’s also recently was awarded a liquor license so you can now enjoy a beer or glass of wine with your lunch. Check the place out – I know that I plan to soon.
