New Show at The Gallery at 100 Market

I am pleased and honored to be able to share with everyone the following info about an upcoming show right downtown!  I had a blast selecting images to be included in this show, with some unique perspectives from town that you’ve seen here on the site….and made a point to highlight the Memorial Bridge as we don’t know how much longer it will be around for us to enjoy.  The gallery is located at 100 Market Street, the same building that houses The 100 Club, Banana Republic, Springers Jewelers, and various office users.  I can’t wait to visit the building and see the gorgeous and vibrant prints hanging on the walls…and only hope that others enjoy them as much as I enjoyed putting them together.

What: 11th Annual Summer Juried Exhibit

When: Friday, August 13th from 5-7pm

Where: 100 Market Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801

Once again, Infinite Imaging did a fantastic job at delivering a high quality product in a very accelerated timeframe.   The following is an excerpt from the press release that went out this week!

“On August 13 The Gallery at 100 Market will open its eleventh “Summer Juried Exhibtion,” with an artist’s reception, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show features the work of two-dozen artists from throughout New England and will continue through November1.

“This is a theme-free show with a mix of mediums and subjects, a smorgasbord of visions and approaches,” says Michael Simchik, building owner and gallery sponsor. “And surprisingly enough, after more than a decade of exhibits, it’s the first time we’ll feature an artist whose work is focused on Portsmouth and its iconic images.”

Since it’s inception the alternative gallery has avoided all but the most unique images of the seacoast, giving preference to work less apt to find placement in commercial establishments. This time there will be nearly 20 Portsmouth images by Philip Case Cohen, who chronicles the seacoast for his popular blog The Daily Portsmouth. Each of his images will feature a unique path to and in honor of Portsmouth.”

Sunrise from Peirce Island

Here is another shot from sunrise on Saturday morning this past weekend.  Even though the forecasts called for clear skies…we were gifted with some interesting clouds that continued to change through the early morning light.

This shot was taken from the Peirce Island boat ramp, which is one of my favorite places to shoot from…and one of my favorite shots.  Even though getting up for sunrise is easily one of the crazier things I’ve done…it’s right in line with the early morning crew practices I used to do without hesitation – and I’m often rewarded with a decent shot or two, and the satisfaction that I got up to do something meaningful (even if it’s only meaningful to me).
