If you saw the video from Sunday’s Halloween post, these images will look familiar. This antique greenhouse has been in my family for quite some time, and was the beloved hobby of my grandfather Waldo Case Bigelow. Last time I was visiting, it was overgrown with an incredible amount of nature as the earth tried to again reclaim the property. Since then, some landscapers cut back most of the ivy growth so it was safer…although with the missing ceiling glass and inclement weather, it’s probably a pretty dangerous place. This was one of the last visits I’ll make to the greenhouse before it’s gone…and I enjoyed every minute.
I love the shots of this greenhouse. They remind me of my favorite childhood book, The Secret Garden.
Solid shots here, Phil. Really nice detail. I particularly like the last photo of the switch. Well composed; I dig the shallow DOF.
