Welcome to Portsmouth! It’s incredible that the city was settled in 1623…we’re talking nearly 400 years ago at this point.  The city has such rich history with its maritime background, business background in the days of the early shipping merchants, modern tourism, and with so much to write about that it has spawned a countless number of books.  We’re fortunate to experience this place in its modern form, but I can’t help daydreaming about what it would have been like here in other eras.
