The Martingale Wharf Deck always has a great view of sunset, but it also has a beautiful view towards the Memorial Bridge – seen here around the corner of Bow Street amidst the subtle colors of dusk.
Nearly anyone who has ever spent time in the seacoast will agree that The Decks are one of Portsmouth’s unique attributes, with waterfront dining available to enjoy the view of a working waterfront. It just so happens that the decks all have a gorgeous view towards the west, which typically has a magnificent view of […]
I love architecture and real estate. This shot was taken from the deck of the new Martingale Wharf building, featuring the brick facade and outdoor patios of what was once the original Martingale structure. Amazing to watch the progress of the building over the past few years, and this new structure undeniably has character.
The dismantling of the Memorial Bridge continues as seen from the deck of the Martingale Wharf building. The new deck sits just over the Piscataqua River with a beautiful view up river and also around the corner, past this interesting spiral staircase to the bridge from Maine to New Hampshire.

This shot was taken setting out on the sunset harbor cruise on the Heritage. I snapped this single exposure with the incredibly sharp and vibrant Carl Zeiss lens that I’ve rented on a couple of occasions – and I just loved the rich blues of the water and the sky. I’ve always thought that the […]
The Martingale Wharf building continues its growth out of the ground this week. The steel is being erected in the place of the former building that had to be torn down due to safety concerns. In the top shot of the two below, you can see the Middle Bridge and the Piscataqua River Bridge in […]
The River House is getting a facelift out back, with a new elevated deck being constructed on the 2nd story of the building (even with street level of Bow Street). Also, the Martingale Wharf reconstruction continues as the steel is being erected in the place of the former original brick building (seen below).
The Martingale Wharf chronicles continue – as the original Martingale building was demolished in the early part of the week. Seen above is refuse from the original structure (the main component was torn down since the safety of the original brick building was in question as the bricks began to sag towards the waterfront) and […]
