Happy Birthday America!  Have a wonderful 4th of July holiday.  Thank you to those who continue to fight for our freedom and for ensuring that all Americans can continue to enjoy life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The Doors of Portsmouth

Today’s post features one of the historic doors of Portsmouth in the South End.  I’m not quite sure what street I was on – but I’m sure that someone can let me know?  I was drawn to the American flag in the front door and the classic New England feel of the home and of the streetscape.  I am going to try and get back to posting more regularly on some of the series I’d dreamed up sometime last year…The Doors of Portsmouth, Streets of the South End, Rebuilding Portsmouth – to name a few.  Have a great weekend and stay cool!

Veterans Day & A Market Street Evening

Today I first wanted to thank and pay respect to those who have served and those who continue to serve our country.  Our Veterans’ contribution to our country is immeasurable and its importance is beyond words. This Veterans Day is special as I remember my enigmatic & profound grandfather, Murray J. Cohen, who served our country during WWII and was on the shores of Omaha Beach on D Day + 1.

Here’s a shot of a painting of the American flag as seen in the NYC Museum of Modern Art:

As an added treat, here’s an evening shot of Market Street with the evening glow of the street lamps setting in.
