Submarine at the Shipyard
You have to click this one to see it large. The submarine that is docked in port at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is being hosed off as the shipyard glows in the late day sunlight underneath some colorful and fluffy clouds. What a serene scene and a nice portrait of the colorful cranes on the Maine horizon.
The Road Ahead
Some classic autumn colors and a mysterious dirt road. Two great elements for a perfectly New Hampshire image.
Fall in the White Mountains
The Lower Falls off the Kancamangus Highway are a beautiful force of nature. With a few extra hours to spare, the decision was made to head north to enjoy some of New Hampshire’s world famous fall foliage. It was a gorgeous day on Saturday, and we took full advantage – traveling on meandering tree-lined roads, finding a lake, doing a spontaneous photo shoot at the falls, and finishing the day with a meal at the Mount Washington Hotel. More photos to follow throughout the week!
Autumn Visitors | Cynthia Pioneer
Along with the fall comes cooler weather, falling leaves and a need for sand and salt. Recently the Cynthia Pioneer returned to the Granite State Minerals terminal in downtown Portsmouth to unload some materials for the imminent inclement weather. While I’m not quite ready for snowstorms and ice, I’m enjoying the cool mornings and the increase in river traffic. I’m sure I’m not the only one – time to get the skis ready for the season (or book the plane tickets to Florida if you’re not a winter person…).
Strawbery Banke in Autumn
A fall scene in Portsmouth at the old Strawbery Banke museum. There’ve been some interesting ongoings at Strawbery Banke this year including a new brew fest…looking forward to seeing what sort of unique events are brought to town next year.
