Sunset at Fenway Park

Fenway Park turned 100 years old this year, and the amazing historic park will always be a favorite place of mine to visit.  This year’s baseball hasn’t been very inspiring, but the sunset this evening at least partially made up for it.

In the Bleachers | Fenway Park

It’s not everyday that someone gets to attend a baseball game between the rival Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees in the historic Fenway Park.  I was lucky enough to catch a game this year, and the weather was perfect….nice and warm during the afternoon portion of the game that started at 4, cooling off and feeling like a perfect fall night once the lights came on.  I always love visiting Fenway, and enjoyed sitting out in the bleachers for a change.  Hopefully next October we’ll have a healthy roster and will be looking forward to the opening series of the playoffs.

Tonight’s post features a place special to (nearly) all New Englanders.   Seen above is infamous the Green Monster and its newly added seats.  The Sports Authority sign welcomed two home runs against the Blue Jays on Friday the 28th, thankfully one of them was from the Red Sox courtesy of Jason Bay to tie it up at 5.  Below is a view of the field from the stands along the 1st baseline with the ominous stormy sky, before the heavy rains arrived.
