The Hotel Portsmouth

I’m very excited to photograph the ongoing changes to one of downtown’s oldest boutique hotels – The Hotel Portsmouth (formerly the Sise Inn). This historic structure on Court Street is currently undergoing a transformation by the same team that renovated the historic Frank Jones grain storage warehouse into the Ale House Inn.  As these early images show, the rooms are full of character and unique layouts.

Ale House Inn | Bow Street

The lobby at the Ale House Inn is cozy and inviting.  Frank Jones Ales are seen on the wall to the right, a call back to an earlier era in Portsmouth brewing.  The antler chandelier is perfectly New Hampshire, and the couches and the brick walls are both modern and historic while being perfectly comfortable. The boutique hotel located on Bow Street has a distinctly nautical feel.

Ale House Inn | Bow Street

The new hotel in Portsmouth’s smallest brewery’s old grain storage warehouse on Bow Street feels very nautical.  They’ve done a beautiful job with the place, it’s very clean and modern…complete with a new Ale sign in the elevator on the 2nd story – visible form Bow Street above the Seacoast Rep theater.  Check it out some evening.
