On the Course at Pease

There is something about golf courses that I’ve always loved.  I’m not a very good golfer, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying getting out to play a round…I think it transports me back to a place when I was a kid and I remember hearing about my grandfather and his love for playing golf in Connecticut.  This shot was taken at dusk at Pease Golf Course here in Portsmouth, capturing a little bit of the beauty.

The Bridge | Wentworth By The Sea Country Club

I’m not an avid golfer, but I love to play when I have the chance to get out on the course.  Recently I had the good fortune to play the incredible Wentworth By The Sea Country Club.  The grounds are incredibly well manicured, with several holes overlooking the water – truly stunning.  I had always heard great things about the course, but until I actually got around the 18 holes, I didn’t realize such a phenomenal place could be located right here in the seacoast of New Hampshire (I should have known better than to doubt).

Approaching the Bridge | Pease Golf Course

I’m thankful to have made it out for a couple rounds of golf so far this year.  There’s something peacefully awesome about getting out on the course, even if you play terribly like me, with the smell of fresh cut grass and no signs of the typical stressors of everyday life to be found.

At Pease Golf Course

One of the beauties of the seacoast is the rich variety of recreational opportunities – from surfing to swimming to day hikes and golfing.  This shot was taken on the Pease Golf Course at the redeveloped former air force base.  It’s rare that I’ve featured shots from outside the downtown or waterfront area…and a nice rich green golf course shot has been long overdue.  With the recent spat of rain, I’m worried it might be a while before I can get back out on the golf course…
