Bee is for Broke | Bumble Bee | Street AKA Museum

This installation by Bumble Bee appeared on the Getty on Islington Street.  Bumble Bee also did the installation next to one of my new favorite spots in town, Kaffee Vonsolln…which will be featured soon.  I’m having such a blast running around town and shooting these bursts of interestingness showing up around town.  Had a blast at the opening for the exhibit at the Portsmouth Museum of Art…and love the whole idea of collaboration.

Below is one of Bumble Bee’s pieces in the museum exhibit.

Frank Jones, Portsmouth’s Brewery Magnate

After picking up some much needed groceries tonight, I decided to drive through the old brewery campus that, as this building states, was built by Frank Jones in 1884.  Mr. Jones built and owned some pretty serious real estate in Portsmouth during his time spent in the region.  The taller buildings within the campus located on Islington Street in Portsmouth, NH remain largely vacant in 2009.  Some of the shorter brick buildings have been renovated and tenanted by local businesses including an athletic club and a bar.

Would love to see the older buildings utilized in some fashion, I have to imagine that if enough money were thrown around, the buildings might make some pretty sweet (large) loft spaces.
