After the Storm | Portsmouth Waterfront

As promised, today features two closer views of the Portsmouth waterfront under the beautiful and immense cloud formations from Thursday night’s storms.  The blue of the evening sky highlights the North Church steeple while the sunlight grazes one of the layers of clouds in the image below.  This was truly one of those rare afternoons where the natural beauty of sunset matched the allure of the waterfront.  Some of my favorite captures to date.

A Piscataqua River Sunset | East Coast & West Coast

It’s no secret that I’m drawn to the waterfront, wherever I am.  Today’s post features a beautiful and intense sunset over the Piscataqua River from last fall here in Portsmouth on the east coast – and below, from the west coast, it features the Pacific Ocean as seen from the Muir Beach Overlook (a national park)…the winding stairs were inviting and also inspiring set out so high over the rocky Californian coastline.

Mount Sopris | Colorado

Mount Sopris is a high, twin-summited mountain peak located at the northwest end of the Elk Mountains in western ColoradoUnited States. The mountain is located in western Pitkin County, south of Carbondale and southwest of the confluence of the Crystal and Roaring Fork rivers. It lies in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, part of the White River National Forest. (Info per wikipedia)  Grabbed this shot before heading to Aspen to fly home…the sky was pretty grey with some fluffy clouds, matching nicely with the river in the foreground and the vibrant foliage.
