After much hubbub about the fate of the Copper Beech tree in front of the South Church on State Street in downtown Portsmouth, the tree has seen its last day.

A Snowy Downtown Evening | South Church
With the lack of snow lately in New Hampshire, and the south being walloped – I must say that it was actually nice to get a snowstorm today. Now that we’ve had another storm, I’m that much more ready for spring – but after getting out of work, I had to go for a walk around town. At this point, the snow was falling so hard that I was afraid I was going to ruin my camera and couldn’t keep the lens dry enough for long enough to go for a serious walk. I snapped the above shot of the South Church, and enjoyed a quick stroll up Congress Street ducking in and out of awnings in front of stores. More shots to follow from tonight in the near future.
