Skating at Puddle Dock Pond at Strawbery Banke
It has been amazing to see the vision of some dedicated and passionate locals come to life! The folks behind Puddle Dock Pond fought a long/hard battle to see this project through, and as I have heard many people say since it’s opening – it is hard to imagine that such a phenomenal and quintessentially New England winter venue wasn’t here sooner. I can’t wait to bring my family down for a skate once our little one is big enough to don a pair of ice skates! In the meantime we’ll settle for enjoying the fun from the sidelines topped off with a hot chocolate next door. A sincere THANK YOU to those who donated time and money to make sure that this project saw the light of day. It is amazing to have another great winter activity right here in our own back yard!
Early Morning at The South End
The Piscataqua River is coated in a light fog in the early morning cold in a scene of the South End of Portsmouth.
South End Sunrise
A colorless sunrise over the South End ended up highlighting the natural New England beauty of the historic neighborhood.
South End Cloudscape
A long exposure of the passing clouds at sunset taken fro Peirce Island in Portsmouth’s historic South End.
A subtle fall sunset over the Piscataqua River in the South End of Portsmouth brought some lovely light to the waterfront scene.
Sanders Fish Market in the South End is one of my favorite places to stop and grab some freshly caught fish to make for dinner. On this particular evening I happened to be in the area for reasons unrelated to shopping, but it let me enjoy the scene a bit more than the normal rush in/rush out routine. The South End is truly one of the most beautiful parts of town surrounded by lovely waterfront scenes.
Dusk at The South End of Portsmouth
A beautifully calm river surface provides some picture perfect reflections of dusk as seen over the historic South End of Portsmouth. The North Church is seen in the distance along with the Memorial Bridge at far right, and the clocktower of the South Ward Meetinghouse.
