Sailboat In New Castle

Once spring and the warmer weather arrives each year, I always feel more drawn to being out on the water.  On a particularly foggy afternoon, I went for a drive around the seacoast to explore some photo opportunities.  As soon as I saw this sailboat at rest along with a few others off the road in New Castle, I had to stop.

In Bloom at Prescott Park

The springtime colors continue to flourish around the city.  These trees lining a walkway through Prescott Park are in full bloom, accentuated by the green grass and the overcast skies above. I’m always amazed at the opportunities around the city to sit and take in the many views – both historic and natural.

Sunrise At The Water

It’s always energizing to start the day with a glimpse of something naturally stunning.  With all the rain and moisture in the air recently, mornings are filled with fog and atmosphere, and the sun created a perfectly aligned column with the catamaran smack in the middle.

Sunset from The Decks

The Decks are a great way to spend an afternoon, whether you’re eating, drinking, catching up with old friends, or making new ones.  It just so happens that the location of the sunset adds another dynamic to the scene each sunny evening, setting in the west somewhere near the salt piles, the tugboats or the bridges in the distance.  When you happen to enjoy a spectacular sunset and a freighter is out in the river, it makes for the perfect scene.  No freighter in this shot – I missed it by about an hour, but the sunset from The Decks was phenomenal all the same.
