Gates & Washington | Streets of the South End

A tall carriage house sits at the corner of Gates & Washington Streets in the South End of Portsmouth.  It’s not quite the south end of the waterfront, but it’s on its way…and the vintage architecture fits with its neighbors in the South End.  The orange sunlight on the old bricks made for a nice scene along with the shadows of the surrounding trees & plant growth.

Gates Street | Streets of the South End

In this week’s Streets of the South End, a vista of Gates Street to the west towards the setting sun.  Some of the streets in the South End are fortunate enough to receiving infrastructure improvements, including new brick walkways.  I’d love to be able to call this area my home.

Check out a bird’s eye view of the street HERE.

Also, check out last week’s Streets of the South End featuring Washington Street.
