The Tugs After The Storm

One of the most memorable sunsets I’ve ever witnessed after powerful thunderstorms cleared out of the area – fully illuminating the brick buildings of Bow Street and creating a rainbow over the Memorial Bridge.

A Warm Summer Sunset at Goose Rocks Beach

A Warm Summer Sunset

With another winter storm bringing more than a foot of snow, while I enjoy getting out and shooting the conditions, it’s also always nice to remember that summer will return.  This image is a view of sunset from Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine.

On The Decks (Summer in Portsmouth)

In the heart of winter amidst bitter cold and multiple feet of snow – it’s always nice to remember the warmer days in Portsmouth.  Summertime is filled with great outdoor activities of entirely different kinds (no jackets/mittens/hats required) – and with many options for having a drink out on the waterfront (complete with an amazing view of sunset).  Here’s to warmer days!

Magical Sunset in Market Square

Magical Sunset in Market Square

This was an incredible surprise on the eve of 2014’s first major snowstorm (according to the forecast) – a warm red sky with the bottom of the clouds kissed by the setting sun as the downtown lights began to brighten.

Sunset in Market Square

Sunset in Market Square

It was a beautiful sunset that I was watching from my office window and spontaneously decided to go and see what the horizon looked like from Market Square.  In this wide angle shot you can see the Portsmouth Athenaeum, the North Church and its iconic steeple, and the glow of sunset down the corridor of Congress Street in the distance.
