As the past week’s post show, I am fascinated (obsessed) with the freighters that make their way in and out of Portsmouth bringing their various goods/materials in and out of port. Here’s a take of the Cynthia Pioneer, the city’s most recent visitor during the late afternoon and early evening.
A more ominous scene at the same landscape can be seen here: APPROACHING STORM.

Tonight’s post features a place special to (nearly) all New Englanders. Seen above is infamous the Green Monster and its newly added seats. The Sports Authority sign welcomed two home runs against the Blue Jays on Friday the 28th, thankfully one of them was from the Red Sox courtesy of Jason Bay to tie it up at 5. Below is a view of the field from the stands along the 1st baseline with the ominous stormy sky, before the heavy rains arrived.

The approach of Fall is signaled by the return of the freighters to Portsmouth’s working waterfront. Here the sand & salt piles are loaded onto the massive freighter as seen from the Granite State Minerals truck scale from the Market Street entrance. Today, I have adjusted the site’s settings – and from now on you will be able to click the image for a LARGE version!
